Chevette Visits A Big Box Store Part 1

I have never had a 3 month old puppy but everything I have been learning while volunteering for New Rattitude and doing adoption counseling has prepared me for what little puppies need. Our PNW team of foster parents have all had foster dogs who have not been properly socialized as youngsters and the formula can be disastrous. So we would like to help Chevette to learn that people, places, noises, and other stimuli can be a positive and interesting experience. So we ventured out to Lowes one evening when it was not crowded at all so she could smell, hear, see and feel what a big world there is inside a big box store. I got a ton of pictures but just to let you know, we were in the store for no longer than 20 minutes. We left  before she could experience anything unsettling and she did really well and as long as she had dad she was feeling safe and sound....
Wow there is so much to see here!

Chevette takes a snuggle break.

This mat makes a great backdrop for a photo op

Sorry couldn't resist.

More snuggle breaks. Just so you know, Chevette does this all the time, even at home, she has found her favorite spot is snuggling in our neck....

Letting her try out the new pink harness we bought her. She has never been in a harness or on a leash, it is obvious.

Any rats under here?

How about here?

Walking on a leash gives Chevette another perspective.
Stay tuned for parts 2 and 3....hint hint, there's a lawnmower and Christmas decorations involved ;)
