Timken Say's I Am NOT A Foster Failure Dog

Today is Tim's first Gotcha Day and he would like to help rid the world of the term "foster-failure". From Tim's point of view the idea of going from his family's foster dog to officially being one of the family is a huge adoption success story!

We love all our foster dogs and each time we let go of one to his/her adopter and say good-bye there is a little empty feeling that follows. There are also the occasions where there are tears on our part. Along with the tears and pit in our stomach there is also joy in knowing that we had another chance to help a rescue dog find his forever home where he will be a beloved family member and have a happily ever after life, and this is one reason why we foster.

So why would it be a "failure" to end up adopting one of our foster dogs? Isn't it a Dog-Adoption Success Story? Tim would argue that his foster mom and dad making the decision to adopt him as their furkid was one of compassion, dedication, joyfulness, and love. Tim thinks that any foster dog who ends up being adopted by his/her foster family should be celebrated as a dog-adoption success story just as if they had been adopted outside of their foster home, and we wholeheartedly agree!

So Happy 1st Gotcha Day Timken! We are so happy that you are staying right here with us forever and ever and ever.

Happy Gotcha Day to our sweet Timken! Life wouldn't be the same without you.
