What I Did On My Very First Vacation. Cullaby Lake part 3a

The way we vacation is pretty simple..... we like to explore the area to find places to walk/hike, then we eat, then more walking, then more eating, repeat all day until we are ready to snuggle up in the eve with dogs in our laps, reading or watching a video. Yup this is the perfect type of vacation for us and it turns out worked really well for Timken, Skip, and Jenny. We didn't hear one complaint the entire trip! :)

We found that this trail went all around Cullaby Lake County Park, and as many times as we have been down to this area we had never walked here. This is more what Tim is used to as we walk on wooded trails 5-7 times a week at home so he was ready to go explore this new trail and as luck would have it we had the whole place to ourselves!

Let the exploring begin...

Nice wetland area here with lots of wonderful things to smell and get to know....

This water ran all along the side of this gated road we were walking on. Luckily we were there before the mosquitoes hatched but we could tell this will be a very "buzzy" place in the very near future...

Skip was having a blast checking out the brush...

Lots of these huge leaved water plants...

This was kind of a strange thing...looked like these mounds would be from the Moon, but the dogs thought they were pretty awesome!

Tim strikes a pose on one of the mounds.

Jenny even got in the action of checking out the mounds...

Tim says "look what we can do mom!", Skip says "here comes dad I wonder where he was?"
Dad had been checking out what was around the corner. There was a pretty cool photo shoot opportunity but you will have to come back tomorrow to see it!
